CTET Photo and Signature Size — and How to Match Them

Every CTET cycle, the same story: the form is nearly done, and then the photo upload bounces — wrong size, wrong dimensions, signature too heavy. The specs aren't hard, they're just precise. Here's what you need and the fastest way to produce it.

What the CTET form typically asks for

• Photograph: about 3.5 × 4.5 cm, JPG, roughly 10–100 KB
• Signature: about 3.5 × 1.5 cm, JPG, roughly 3–30 KB

One honest caveat: always confirm against the current year's official notification before uploading — boards do tweak these numbers between cycles. The ranges above have been the common pattern for years.

The two-minute method

1. Open the Exam Photo & Signature Resizer.
2. Choose Photo, pick the CTET/board preset (or enter the exact px/KB from your notification as Custom), upload, download.
3. Switch to Signature and repeat with your signature image.

The tool fixes both the pixel dimensions and the KB limit in one pass, which is exactly the combination that trips people up when they try a regular resize app.

Getting the source images right

The resizer can't fix a bad original, so:

• Photo: plain light background, face straight to camera, no cap/sunglasses, recent. Shoot in daylight if you can.
• Signature: sign with a black or blue pen on plain white paper, photograph it from directly above in good light. Faint pencil or a shadowed shot turns muddy when resized to 30 KB.

If a file is still rejected

Two usual suspects: the file is a PNG when the form wants JPG — convert it with Image Converter — or the KB is right but dimensions are off, which means a generic compressor was used instead of the exam preset. Redo it through the exam tool and it clears.
